Ok, great, but am I qualified?

All teachers must have, at least, a bachelor’s degree. Move on if this doesn’t apply to you. Beyond that, they are more flexible than other online teaching companies. So long as your native language is English, all nationalities are fair game. Preference is, however, given to those from the UK, US, Canada, & Australia. You will also need a minimum 100-hour TEFL certification. If you are unsure of exactly what this abbreviated certification is, check out THIS article. You will also need at least 2 years of relevant experience. Haven’t been lesson planning for that long or at all? No problem. Anything goes, coaching, babysitting, tutoring or even experience with your own children. Last but most importantly, you will need a stable internet connection, headset, and microphone. Let’s be honest, it’s hard to teach English online without those tools.

What are the hours?

The best thing about DadaABC are their hours. Most international teaching companies work in the wee hours of the morning. However, DadaABC asks that teachers be available Monday- Friday, from 6:00pm-9:00pm or Saturday/Sunday, from 9:00am- 9:00pm. You must teach a minimum of four hours a week, which is just 8 30-minute classes. This schedule works well if you aren’t a morning person or are looking for some extra cash after putting the kids to bed.

Enough small talk. Tell me how to apply!

Dada ABC makes it super easy to apply and the entire process only takes a few days. Follow these steps and you’ll be teaching and making some extra cash in no time!

Applying to DadaABC is a three-step process.
  1. Sign up through the teacher portal by clicking here. You will set up your profile by entering your personal details along with your teaching experience.
  2. Next up, you’ll be guided through the interview stage of the process. Here, you will pick a day and time to meet with the hiring team. Your session will consist of a 15-minute interview and a 10-minute mock lesson where the recruiter will act as the student. Don’t wing this interview, the better received it is the higher you will be paid!
  3. If your interview and mock lesson are successful, you’ll be sent a job offer! While DadaABC doesn’t have a minimum contract length, they suggest starting with six months.

Pro tips to rocking your interview:

This seems awesome, let’s talk money.

Teachers are paid once a month via an overseas online banking transfer. DadaABC says that teachers can make up to $25/hour, but, on average, we see most coming in at $17/hour. Three factors will determine your salary: initial application, training & demo class, and bonuses.

DaDaABC provides both a base pay plus bonus options.

There are a few ways to make some extra cash with Dada ABC. If you have a recurring student you’ll receive an extra 30% of your base pay, if you convert students from a trial to formal class you’ll receive an extra $7 per student, and for each class you finish you receive an extra $1.

In Summary…

A lot of companies that you can teach English online through are very similar, but DadaABC stands out for their flexibility in who they accept, their higher pay, and evening hours. If you’re looking to work from home, travel, or just want a side hustle definitely give DadaABC a shot!
