I've never taught english. Is that ok?
Yes! Most of the programs we feature require a bachelor’s degree (any subject) and experience working with kids. Many programs do not require any prior experience beyond this.
Do I need to know a foreign language?
No. We exclusively recruit U.S. residents, many of whom are English-only speakers. Most of the programs we feature have built their teacher/student interactions around visual aids and gesture driven responses. In addition, most material is based on American elementary school curriculum that is based on the Common Core State Standards for grades K through 5.
Is a University degree required?
Yes. The majority of programs will require a bachelor’s degree from an accredited University in USA. However, some partners will accept enrolled University students to become online teachers for their programs.
How much will I earn?
Program payouts range around $18.00 USD per hour. Rates will vary based on your personal education, experience and program you are teaching for.
How often will I be paid?
Frequency of payment is typically bi-weekly or monthly. Each program has their own payment schedule.
How is my teaching income taxed?
In almost all cases you will be working as an independent contractor and responsible for payment of you own taxes in accordance with your state/province and federal laws.
